Wind = People Being Scattered or a Destroying Power

Scattering of People

The Bible equates wind with scattering of people.

Is. 41:16 Thou shalt winnow them, and the wind shall carry them away, and the whirlwind shall scatter them; and thou shalt rejoice in the Lrd, thou shalt glory in the Holy One of Israel.

Is. 57:13 When thou criest, let them that thou hast gathered deliver thee; but the wind shall take them, a breath shall carry them all away: but he that taketh refuge in me shall possess the land, and shall inherit my holy mountain.

Jer. 13:24 Therefore I will scatter them, as the stubble that passeth away, by the wind of the wilderness.

Jer. 18:17 I will scatter them as with an east wind before the enemy; I will show them the back, and not the face, in the day of their calamity.

Jer. 49:32 And their camels shall be a booty, and the multitude of their cattle a spoil: and I will scatter unto all winds them that have the corners of their hair cut off; and I will bring their calamity from every side of them, saith the Lrd.

Jer. 49:36 And upon Elam will I bring the four winds from the four quarters of heaven, and will scatter them toward all those winds; and there shall be no nation whither the outcasts of Elam shall not come.

Ezek. 5:10 Therefore the fathers shall eat the sons in the midst of thee, and the sons shall eat their fathers; and I will execute judgments on thee; and the whole remnant of thee will I scatter unto all the winds.

Ezek. 5:12 A third part of thee shall die with the pestilence, and with famine shall they be consumed in the midst of thee; and a third part shall fall by the sword round about thee; and a third part I will scatter unto all the winds, and will draw out a sword after them.

Ezek. 12:14 And I will scatter toward every wind all that are round about him to help him, and all his bands; and I will draw out the sword after them.

Ezek. 17:21 And all his fugitives in all his bands shall fall by the sword, and they that remain shall be scattered toward every wind: and ye shall know that I, Jehovah, have spoken it.

Job 27:21 The east wind carrieth him away, and he departeth; And it sweepeth him out of his place.

Destroying Power

The Bible equates wind with a destroying power.

Psa. 1:4  The wicked are not so,  But are like the chaff which the wind driveth away.

Psa. 48:7  With the east wind Thou breakest the ships of Tarshish.

Is. 11:15 And the Lrd will utterly destroy the tongue of the Egyptian sea; and with his scorching wind will he wave his hand over the River, and will smite it into seven streams, and cause men to march over dryshod.

Is. 27:8 In measure, when thou sendest them away, thou dost content with them; he hath removed them with his rough blast in the day of the east wind.

Jer. 4:11 At that time shall it be said to this people and to Jerusalem, A hot wind from the bare heights in the wilderness toward the daughter of my people, not to winnow, nor to cleanse; a full wind from these shall come for me: now will I also utter judgments against them.

Jer. 51:1-4 Thus saith the Lrd: Behold, I will raise up against Babylon, and against them that dwell in Leb-kamai, a destroying wind. And I will send unto Babylon strangers, that shall winnow her; and they shall empty her land: for in the day of trouble they shall be against her round about. Against him that bendeth let the archer bend his bow, and against him that lifteth himself up in his coat of mail: and spare ye not her young men; destroy ye utterly all her host. And they shall fall down slain in the land of the Chaldeans, and thrust through in her streets.

Ezek. 27:26 Thy rowers have brought thee into great waters: the east wind hath broken thee in the heart of the seas.

Dan. 2:35 Then was the iron, the clay, the brass, the silver, and the gold, broken in pieces together, and became like the chaff of the summer threshing-floors; and the wind carried them away, so that no place was found for them: and the stone that smote the image became a great mountain, and filled the whole earth.
