Cherubim = Carriers of the Voice of Gd

Ex. 25:17-22 And thou shalt make a mercy-seat of pure gold: two cubits and a half shall be the length thereof, and a cubit and a half the breadth thereof. And thou shalt make two cherubim of gold; of beaten work shalt thou make them, at the two ends of the mercy-seat. And make one cherub at the one end, and one cherub at the other end: of one piece with the mercy-seat shall ye make the cherubim on the two ends thereof. And the cherubim shall spread out their wings on high, covering the mercy-seat with their wings, with their faces one to another; toward the mercy-seat shall the faces of the cherubim be. And thou shalt put the mercy-seat above upon the ark; and in the ark thou shalt put the testimony that I shall give thee. And there I will meet with thee, and I will speak with thee from above the mercy-seat, from between the two cherubim which are upon the ark of the testimony, of all things which I will give thee in commandment unto the children of Israel.

Num. 7:89-8:3 And when Moses went into the tent of meeting to speak with him, then he heard the Voice speaking unto him from above the mercy-seat that was upon the ark of the testimony, from between the two cherubim: and he spake unto him.

Ezek. 10:4-5 And the glory of the Lrd mounted up from the cherub, and stood over the threshold of the house; and the house was filled with the cloud, and the court was full of the brightness of the Lrd’s glory. And the sound of the wings of the cherubim was heard even to the outer court, as the voice of Gd Almighty when he speaketh.

2Kings 19:15 And Hezekiah prayed before the Lrd, and said, O Lrd, the Gd of Israel, that sittest above the cherubim, thou art the Gd, even thou alone, of all the kingdoms of the earth; thou hast made heaven and earth.

Is. 37:15-16 And Hezekiah prayed unto the Lrd, saying, O Lrd of hosts, the Gd of Israel, that sittest above the cherubim, thou art the Gd, even thou alone, of all the kingdoms of the earth; thou hast made heaven and earth.

Psa. 80:1 Give ear, O Shepherd of Israel, Thou that leadest Joseph like a flock; Thou that sittest above the cherubim, shine forth.

Psa. 99:1 The Lrd reigneth; let the peoples tremble: He sitteth above the cherubim; let the earth be moved.

Then the earth shook and trembled, The foundations of heaven quaked And were shaken, because he was wroth. There went up a smoke out of his nostrils, And fire out of his mouth devoured: Coals were kindled by it. He bowed the heavens also, and came down; And thick darkness was under his feet. And he rode upon a cherub, and did fly; Yea, he was seen upon the wings of the wind.

Ezek. 9:3 And the glory of the Gd of Israel was gone up from the cherub, whereupon it was, to the threshold of the house: and he called to the man clothed in linen, who had the writer’s inkhorn by his side.

Ezek. 10:15-22 And the cherubim mounted up: this is the living creature that I saw by the river Chebar. And when the cherubim went, the wheels went beside them; and when the cherubim lifted up their wings to mount up from the earth, the wheels also turned not from beside them. When they stood, these stood; and when they mounted up, these mounted up with them: for the spirit of the living creature was in them. And the glory of the Lrd went forth from over the threshold of the house, and stood over the cherubim. And the cherubim lifted up their wings, and mounted up from the earth in my sight when they went forth, and the wheels beside them: and they stood at the door of the east gate of the Lrd’s house; and the glory of the Gd of Israel was over them above. This is the living creature that I saw under the Gd of Israel by the river Chebar; and I knew that they were cherubim.

Ezek. 11:22 Then did the cherubim lift up their wings, and the wheels were beside them; and the glory of the Gd of Israel was over them above.

1Kings 6:23-28 And in the inner sanctuary he made two cherubim of olive-wood, each 10 cubits high. And 5 cubits was the one wing of the cherub, and 5 cubits the other wing of the cherub: from the uttermost part of the one wing unto the uttermost part of the other were 10 cubits. And the other cherub was 10 cubits: both the cherubim were of one measure and one form. The height of the one cherub was 10 cubits, and so was it of the other cherub. And he set the cherubim within the inner house; and the wings of the cherubim were stretched forth, so that the wing of the one touched the one wall, and the wing of the other cherub touched the other wall; and their wings touched one another in the midst of the house. And he overlaid the cherubim with gold.

2Chr. 3:10-13 And in the most holy house he made two cherubim of image work; and they overlaid them with gold. And the wings of the cherubim were 20 cubits long: the wing of the one cherub was 5 cubits, reaching to the wall of the house; and the other wing was likewise 5 cubits, reaching to the wing of the other cherub. And the wing of the other cherub was 5 cubits, reaching to the wall of the house; and the other wing was 5 cubits also, joining to the wing of the other cherub. The wings of these cherubim spread themselves forth 20 cubits: and they stood on their feet, and their faces were toward the house.

1Kings 8:6-7 And the priests brought in the ark of the covenant of the Lrd unto its place, into the oracle of the house, to the most holy place, even under the wings of the cherubim. For the cherubim spread forth their wings over the place of the ark, and the cherubim covered the ark and the staves thereof above.

Cherub = King

Ezek. 28:11-19 Moreover the word of the Lrd came unto me, saying, Son of man, take up a lamentation over the king of Tyre, and say unto him, Thus saith the Lrd Gd: Thou sealest up the sum, full of wisdom, and perfect in beauty. Thou wast in Eden, the garden of God; every precious stone was thy covering, the sardius, the topaz, and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the jasper, the sapphire, the emerald, and the carbuncle, and gold: the workmanship of thy tabrets and of thy pipes was in thee; in the day that thou wast created they were prepared. Thou wast the anointed cherub that covereth: and I set thee, so that thou wast upon the holy mountain of Gd; thou hast walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire. Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till unrighteousness was found in thee. By the abundance of thy traffic they filled the midst of thee with violence, and thou hast sinned: therefore have I cast thee as profane out of the mountain of Gd; and I have destroyed thee, O covering cherub, from the midst of the stones of fire. Thy heart was lifted up because of thy beauty; thou hast corrupted thy wisdom by reason of thy brightness: I have cast thee to the ground; I have laid thee before kings, that they may behold thee. By the multitude of thine iniquities, in the unrighteousness of thy traffic, thou hast profaned thy sanctuaries; therefore have I brought forth a fire from the midst of thee; it hath devoured thee, and I have turned thee to ashes upon the earth in the sight of all them that behold thee. All they that know thee among the peoples shall be astonished at thee: thou art become a terror, and thou shalt nevermore have any being.

Cherubim = Guardians of the Tree of Life

Gen. 3:22-24 And the Lrd Gd said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil; and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live forever. Therefore the Lrd Gd sent him forth from the garden of Eden, to till the ground from whence he was taken. So he drove out the man; and he placed at the east of the garden of Eden the Cherubim, and the flame of a sword which turned every way, to keep the way of the tree of life.
